FINAMIS prize award for selected student work

A school round of the Student Science Conference 2016 (SSC) contest took place on 20th April 2016 at the premises of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of Comenius University (FMPI CU) in Bratislava. The student Matej Malý was at the final evaluation in the category of his work awarded besides the title of contest winner also a special prize from the FINAMIS company.

It is already a tradition that FINAMIS s. r. o. awards a prize for work in the category of Financial and Applied Mathematics. As proposed by the expert committee, this year was the winner Matej Malý, student of the 1st year Master's degree, for his work called "Royston normality tests". The work advisor was Mgr. Ján Somorčík, PhD. Based on the achieved results at the school round of SSC, the awarded student will proceed to the Czechoslovak competition called Student Scientific Specialist Activity (SSSA), which will be held in Brno this year.

The regularly awarded price for selected work in the SSC / SSSA competition is one of the activities, where Finamis s.r.o. cooperates with FMPI CU. Within this partnership, the students of Financial Mathematics at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics of FMPI also use the software product AMS-WEB©, which the students use during their specialist education to analyse financial data.
